I ask because I want to know based on how he is and how he reacts to me if he's interested in me or not. I can never tell who's gay or not. I am really bad at it. If this offends people, I will stop asking. But, I like the advice I get and it helps me form a conclusion as to how to respond, or not respond to this person.

Nope, I just like this person, and think they might like me. But, if it bothers people then I won't ask.

Macadiliac! You are placing this guy on a pedestal. One day you may finally meet and when you say "HI" me may be like "Uh, uh, he-he-hello!!!" He will start to drool and then be like "Touch the pretty boy, me touch the pretty boy." Then you will have built him up to find out he is a bit touched in the head. All because you will not succumb to my masculine wiles.

I don't care what questions people ask, I get the same two points for answering them. If I'm making fun of some idiot who is obviously attempting to gay bash or if you ask a question that I may be able to provide an opinion or some insight on. So ask your question, I can't say I'll know, but I'll tell you what I think. Your best bet is always in my opinion to have an honest converstaion with the person. I would hope that if the person is at least comfortable with whatever their sexuality is that they will at least be flattered to be liked rather than offended. But there are always a few idiots out there. It may be a good idea to have this converstion in a public place, not whre everyone can hear you, but I'd think a person is less likely to become viloent or whatever with too many witnesses all over the place.

Why should you ask a question like that simply because you feel he might or might not be interested in you? If he were interested, he would drop a hint somehow. When you ask that question of someone, who is usually acquainted with that person enough to know is he is or not, don't for a second think that the person you asked might not go and tell that person you asked if he were gay. It can be offensive. Just take people at face value and if they are gay or straight eventually you will find out one way or another. Also, don't let that be a deciding factor in how nice you treat people.

Opinion(s) about a person's preceived sexuality will only add to the stereotypes of the LGBTQ community. For this reason alone, it is in my opinion that it shouldn't be asked. Think about how you feel if people were to ask question about you without you knowing?

I guess it all boils down to why you want to know. Is it because you are interested in him? Or because you are afraid he's interested in you?
I can't think of any other legitimate reason for wanting to investigate. idle curiosity is not enough. And if you are just looking for some dirt on someone, well that's wrong.
