Or a United White person college fund? Or a series of colleges that only admit whites? Or affirmative action that benefits white males? Its seems blacks have all of these things, but if a white man wants to have something exclusively for his race, that is racist? All of this in the country of equal rights? How about instead of giving whites all of these, blacks get over themselves, Get over slavery, and live like regular people now? Or is that too much to ask?

Interesting, considering the Miss American title goes to any female of any "race." The thing about a lot of affirmative action policies and opportunities for blacks is that they were put in place after the civil rights movement in the 60's. They were meant to desegregate and give opportunities to blacks who had been disenfranchised for generations and for the most part were predominantly poor.

These policies made and do make sense to a certain extent, but the question is, when will things be "equal enough" or how much time has to go by before we say, "Okay, these policies have worked, and now it's actually taking away opportunities for other groups of people, its time to even things out for everyone." There are many places in the US where this is true, but many (like the rural deep south) in which segregation and racism are still very present, even if it is underlying.

At what point is it helping a disenfranchised black person, and at what point is it giving them an unfair advantage over some other person who needs just as much help?

Racism still needs to be addressed in many places, but I think soon in the future our focus needs to move from race-based affirmative action and more towards income / family unit affirmative action.

Wow your really wound up about this. This is like your third post about this topic. Did you hear about the college students in Boston who gave a scholarship that could only be received by a white person? It was just to prove a point, but there were many who didnt like it.

yeah, the white men of this nation are really downtrodden and repressed and have no real chance at success or improving their lives.

but you never know, someday, most corporate leaders, the president, vice president, most of those running for president, most of the congress and most of the supreme court will be white men.

it's something to shoot for...

These kinds of double standards creates alot of unneceessary racial tension. I am sick and tired of double standards, we as a people need to stand up and stop it. When Imus said what he said, Al Sharpton said he would boycot MSNBC, CBS and his sponsors and forced him out. If we start demonstrating and boycotting compaies who contribute to these double standards, things will change, and we need to do it now.
