I just had my front brakes done. I had to take my car back because the brakes were spongy. They told me they bled the system, and now the pedal is stiffer. But, now my car is extremely bouncy when I drive. It is a SUV so I know it is not the smoothest, but now I feel like I am bouncy up and down.

Its not bouncy when I brake. It just feels like it is driving rough and feels like some one is bouncing on my back bumper every 10sec..

New brakes will not cause that, it must be something else

If you noticed a change in the ride of the car when you picked it up, then take it right back and see what they have to say. They may have done something to damage the shock absorbers. Although I'm not sure what they could have done to it while putting on brakes, but who knows.

Do you find yourself, hitting the brakes and letting up a little and hitting them a little harder again? This would cause the car to appear bouncy, especially, with worn shocks.

good luck to you.

i need to get my front brakes done too, but new brakes shouldnt make your car bouncy, I still didn't get them fixed, and when i stop, i sometimes feel my car bouncy up and down....but thats because i didnt get them fixed yet. You should probably bring it in to another place, and see what they have to say about it. You know car people, trying to suck every cent that you have!

Totally unrelated. Either you have not adjusted to driving with the new brakes, and are pressing too hard or most likely - need new shock absorbers!

sounds like shock failure...brakes would have no eefect on the condition your decribing since your not applying the brakes when your riding down the highway. standard shocks have a life expectancy of about 65000 miles...

I can't think of any reason the brakes would cause that, unless they damaged a shock absorber.

I think that would be new shocks. Did you get those too?
