The building you are in could be struck by lightning but I honestly don't think I have ever heard of a person being struck directly while indoors.

Possible, very doubtful. Someone was struck when lightning came through a window before, but the chances of getting struck by lightning outside are pretty slim.

Depending on how the roof of the house directs a strike, a porch could be a prime target or a low risk. Near here a man drove his car into a carport and was afraid to get out. Lightning struck the big tree beside the carport. The man was not electrocuted. The tree fell on him. It does not matter whether the lightning strikes you or something that falls on you.

Lightning struck our tv antenna when I was a kid and ran through the house and even put a big burn mark on the bathroom mirror where my brother and I were brushing our teeth! Scared the crap out of us but didn't hurt us. I would think it is possible but the chances have got to be slim!

Yes, stay away from the windows and off of the phone. I have a friend that was struck in her laundry room because she was touching her dryer when the lightning hit the house.

I heard that a woman got hit by lightning while on the potty. I haven't gone into the bathroom during a thunderstorm since. That'd be my luck.

Yes thay can! It happened to my friends dad, he was in the shower and lightning came right through the window and struck him and he died! Don't ba scared just be careful of what you do like don't be on the fone and don't be gettinga shower lol! ~good luck~Sophia!

dont want to scare u but yes. i read in a paper along time ago about a lighting strick going into a house. but the odds of u getting struck are pretty big.....dont worry.. and if u have a tall ex-boyfriend that u hate.....stand by him during the storm haha.jk

Damn it, Kate, don't be scared. The lightening can only get you if you are talking on the phone (one with a cord). So just get off the phone until the phone goes away -- or talk on your cell or a cordless phone!
