You have to plan ahead. Know the events of your book, right up to the end, before you even start writing.

You may not be a novel writer but a short story writer. Even authors who write novels now started with smaller works first and worked up the ladder to their accomplished works of today. I suggest you try taking some of your themes you already have and fixing them into short story form. If you have a lot of them, you could compile them into a book that way and get them published. Short stories do not have to have chapters but some do and if they do, you don't have to have so many of them and they can be shorter than chapters of novels. That might work a lot better for you.

I agree with Canadian Bacon, You need to have the plot/ key events planned beforehand. You can always freestyle it once your writting, but you need to have a steady moving book. Also you can always combine 2 unfinished books together create an incredible book with a major twist!
