I am and have always been an introvert and it seems to me like Americans are less tolerant of introverts than other cultures. In high school football players and cheerleaders are valued more than people interested in science or literature. People thatare consttantlysocializing and friends with everybody are viewed as the best and the only way to be. In asian cultures being an introvert and an intellectual are viewed as the way to be. This is the same in british and german cultures as well as the rest of northern Europe. To me this proves Americans are less tolerant and accepting of introverts than other cultures?
