I am assuming "away from me" means seperated or divorced and your concern is him spying on you. The IP configuration is at a low level and it either is set correctly (you can get on and use the internet) or it set incorrectly (you cannot get on and use the internet). I would not be to worried about that.

In NetMeeting (I'm pretty sure it is like WebEx and some of the other ones I have used), you can elect to share your desktop with him and you can elect to give him control of your computer but do not do that and walk away as he could install something to track you with. I would not do that at all unless you have a really good reason as he could type some commands really fast and you not catch what he is trying to do.

What reason is he giving you that he needs to have this NetMeeting with you? The good thing about NetMeeting is that you could insist that a 3rd (or even 4th party) be on-line watching what he is doing while he is on there. I would just ask what he wants and copy the file to something like a disk/cd/cheap flash drive and mail it to him with a stamp or two.

Do get something like Spybot [http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/] and scan your comptuer for malicions stuff that may be on there already.

Netmeeting is an outdated way of doing audio/video conferencing. Use something like MSN Messenger or Yahoo Messenger to achive the same effect.

lol, net meeting is just a way so you can see what is going on, on someone elses computer. He shouldn't have any access to your pc at all. If you and I hold a net meeting, and I am in control you will be able to see what I am doing on my computer and vice versa. There is no control lost.

Yes, with netmeeting, he can control your computer and see what you are doing.

If this service is stopped, remote desktop sharing will be unavailable.
