We have Windows 98. Will that level of web cam match with the specifications of our computer. If not, what can the yahoo community suggest?

I would have to concur with the last answer.
Try to locate an older series Logitech or Creative series camera, or even one of those Lacktec - I mean Labtec cams (through a local market, garage sale or even eBay).
If you are looking for the camera, just try going first to Logitech's or any company's website to verify the cam will work with 98 (by searching for compatible drivers) before you start loading it up and the plug and play fails.
That Quickcam Pro 5000 is only backwards compatible to Windows 2000.

I would recommend that you forget the Logitech Cam. Go to a Computer Fair and pick up an old Labtech Web Cam as it will work better with Windows 98. It should only cost you around £5 to £8 ($10 to $16). Trying to add the latest hardware to an old version of Windows will be disastrous as the software that will come with the Logitech will eat your resources as the latest software is extremely hungry compared with the software designed for 95 and 98.
