i seen a homeless man at a store last night, i have gave him money twice, and last night he came back up to me, i'm feelin a bit used, and almost like he knows he can count on me. I always think that if i was in the position but hopefully never am, i wold want help. do you think i was in the wrong to turn him down last night?

If you feel as though you're being used, simply ask the man what he'd like from the store, if he wants booze, tell him no, however you'd be more than happy to buy him something to eat and drink [not booze].

If he refuses the offer, say that's the way it is, take it or leave it.

Plus, tell him you're not the local bank and you can't afford to give him your hard earned money every time he asks.

It's like feeding a stray cat. They always come back for more. You shouldn't feel guilty and it's not your fault you didn't have the money nor is it your job to help every homeless person you come across.

Next time he come up tell him you dont ahve any more money but you can direct him to the nearest homeless shelter....

No, it's your money and you worked hard to get it. You can give him coupons or stuff like that so he can save money. But, it's rude of him to expect it from you. I can see that you want to help but he needs to help himself by getting his life on track.
