I will be driving from Massachusetts to Miami soon. I have never made the drive before.

What is the hardest part of the trip.....My guess would be driving through New York..but thats just my guess....

Try to plan your timing so that you don't go through NYC and Washington DC at rush hour on a weekday, if you can. I have driven down 95 from MA many times, and what I usually do is leave very early, like 2 am, so I'm through NY before the traffic gets bad, or else I go on the weekend. Other than that, your biggest problem will be just staying awake, because it gets boring once you're out of the northeast. I highly recommend a stop at South of the Border, which is in South Carolina right over the state line. They have all different kinds of billboards advertising it for about a hundred miles before you get to it, and I find them amusing and they help break up the boredom. BTW, NY isn't bad to drive through if you don't get stuck in traffic-- just watch the signs to make sure you don't take a wrong exit and end up lost.

Contact AAA to get an update of ongoing road construction.

Anywhere close to a major city during rush hours will be bad. The section of 95 between Baltimore and Richmond is one big jam even without construction delays except from 10 pm to 5 am. Plan accordingly.

Don't go on i95 from Hartford to NYC - take Ct15 (Merritt Parkway) to I87 then I87 back to I95 just before the GW bridge. The cross Bronx expressway is usually a parking lot.

Take lots of toll money for the NJ Turnpike (or an easy pass), North Carolina seems to go on forever..........

Actually its a pretty easy drive. The only thing you have to worry about is timing. Most large cities you going to have bad traffic. The best thing to do it drive during the night. You just ge behind some big trucks and pretty much do what they do (they know where all the troopers are).
