Im looking at starting a business and dont want to get arrested. Do you have to have a licence, or is that only applicable within a radius of a city/town etc>?

You have to be registered with the local authority and yes you need a permit/licence and you cannot just work anywhere- they will need to know where you intend to work and when- its not a case of getting a van and heating up a few burgers at road side. You will also need to come under certain health and safety regulations - you will have to have a food and hygiene certificate as well.! Speak to your local council.

a traders licence is only needed when you are selling from the main street if you are selling from inside a building site you donot require a licence although you must register your burger van.you must also hold an updated food and hygene certificate and your van must be inspected to see if it clean enough
