Some of these bridges are part of the Interstate system, which makes them Federal, not state.

Sense bridges are a state owned and maintained item, I would think Bush would do nothing and rightfully so.

Here we go again, expecting the president and his government to solve our problems. In case you didn't know, bridges are state-owned. It aint Bush's problem. How can you not know that? How can you not realize it isn't the presidents job to take care of us? He works for us, but we have to take a little responsibility. Bush aint your mother. He doesn't need to clean up after every little thing. SUre the bridge deal was bad, but it is the state's fault, not Bush's. I'm only in 8th grade, and I can see that. How can people not see that?

At this morning's press conference he stated some Transportation Department guy was evaluating all the bridges in the US (I assume on Federal highways) and report back on the extent of the problem. He also indicated that it will take awhile to scientifically determine the exact cause of the Minnesota problem.

Bush was on TV today and this is the just of what he had to say...
How about reassessing how the NTSB is allocating funds for projects. (its the BIGGEST bureaucracy of all departments).
He doesn't feel taxes should be raised, just spend what you got better!

It seems to me that "we the people" already get taxed enough at the pump.

Thank you Mr. President!

How about a brand new idea:

Work with local cities
Then with local counties
Then with the States

And let the President do something productive like get BJ's in the oval office.

The plan is for congress and the state programs to readjust their priorities and take the money they have collected and fix the infrastructure. We have the money, the politicians have just diverted the funds. This should not be an issue that a President of the US needs to address. I think we need to focus on getting people to think!

Bush isn't an engineer. How about we let Bush do what his job entitles, and we let our engineers do what their job entitles. Bush has nothing to do with faulty bridges, nor do federal taxes as mush as state.

That is not up to him. The local governments should be doing this.

If you are too poor to build your own road, tough. Oops, that's the health care plan.
