According to Aquinas, the soul is immortal because it is immaterial, intellectual and non-composite in nature. Anything that is comprised of parts is necessarily prone to corruption. Since the soul is simple, monadic, and not a composite whole comprised of lessor parts, the soul is not subject to decay.

He didnt say that. Aristotle did.. It started with Thomas commenting on what Aristotle said, When he commented on the De anima, he seems not to be concerned with the flare up in Paris over Latin Averroism.....it is a subject in school so read this.
