I care whats going on with certain celebritys to a certain extent. I will buy a magazine on them every now and then. But why do some people obsess about celebritys??? It's crazy!!

Because my friend they are famous and people want to know whats happening in their lives. Everyone loves gossip, not me so much because im a guy but girls definetly love gossip. And what better gossip to talk about but what is goin on in the lives of all our favourite stars. Hope this helps answer your question :)

It is a form of escapism and a desire to be someone else. By knowing all one can about a celebrity, one can think of all the possibilities and fantasize. There isn't a celebrity alive who is worth the time it takes to read about them. People have always been, and always will be, fascinated by the rich and famous. Some are just more obsessed than others. Althought it is actually possible to not read about them and not care.

People care about celebrities because the media shoves it down our throat. Have you ever heard a song on the radio and not liked it? Then you start hearing it everyday two or three times, and it starts to sound good. lol That is why people like hearing about celebrities.... because the media tells you about it everyday, every second, and doesn't want to report on things that actually matter. i stopped listening to the radio becuase i got tired of hearing about paris and lohan. So now i just listen to my cd's and stay celebrity free. Celebrities are fun to watch in movies, and that's about it for me.

Generally, I think that people who obsess over entertainers (whether they be in the area of the arts or sports) are dissatisfied and/or unfulfilled with their own lives so much that they project themselves into the lives of others at an unhealthy level. It's perfectly OK to temporarily "lose yourself" in a good book or movie, or enjoy occasional entertainment watching sports or other forms of entertainment, but to take it to an obsessive level is, as the Wendy's commercial says, wrong.

Well, I am a big Jonas Brothers fan and a Miley Cyrus fan but I kinda look up to them because they have done really great or cool things that I wanna do. I have posters of them in my room (well technically not now becaus ewe are painting it...).

I don't, not one bit. I couldn't care less what they do - unless it's actually movie/tv/music related.
And as for those that are famous for being famous - give me a break!

some people are obsessed with certain celebrities because they could be their heroes or something.
i know its like that for me.
Billie Joe Armstrong is my hero. im not exactly "obsessed" with him. but i do like to know whats going on with him and everything like that.
other people prolly just want to know whats going on with their favorite actress or actor or singer or stuff like that.
other people are just out for the looks and dont care too much about talent.

Maybe its becouse they think they are perfect and there lifes are perfect but there not there just like normal people,and even normal people are hot.
