Mario lemieux is NOT a member of the Triple Gold club as he has NEVER won a World Championship Gold medal (according to Hockey Canada's official website - see link below to Canada's last 4 WC Gold medal Roster). In fact, he only ever played in the World Championships once.....in 1985.
Gold Medals
1987 Canada Cup
2002 Olympic Games
2004 World Cup of Hockey
The Canada Cup/World Cup is an invitation only tournament jointly run by the NHLPA and the IIHF.
The World Championships is an IIHF hierachial tournament held annually in February (Group D), March (Group C and B) and April (Group A). Canada generally sends a team to this tournament comprised of players from teams who did not make the playoffs.

Yes, it's true, he has also won a gold medal in the Canada Cup (1987), and the World Cup (2004). So you could say he's in the Quintuple Gold club.
Add:
Snoop, Lemieux was the captain of Canada's 2004 World Cup gold medal winning team. He had an assist on Sakic's goal in the Gold Medal game (which they won 3-2 against Finland).
Add 2:
No, snoop, not the World Championships, the World CUP. You know, where Canada beat Finland in the final. The World Cup of Hockey, here's some proof: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Lemieux#International_play
Add 3:
So he didn't win the World Championships after all, guess Wikipedia got that wrong that's weird it says right here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_Gold_Club#2004 that Lemieux won a the world championships in 2004. Oh well, he's still technically a member because of his World Cup and Canada Cup wins. So I guess he's in the quadruple club then.

Mario Lemieux, aka LeMagnifique, was the greatest player to lace up the skates in the history of the game. No offense to the Great One, but that is the opinion of many.
Mario won 2 Stanley Cups in 1991-1992, and whlie playing for Team Canada, a Gold Medal in 2002, and a World Championship in 2004.

Haha, let me split the bias here and just say: yes, it's true.
The requirements to belong to the "Triple Gold Club" is to have won the Stanley Cup, Olympic Gold, and gotten Gold in the World Championships. Mario Lemieux fits the bill.

Lemieux fits the first two requirements, obviously. Somehow, I don't remember Lemieux being on Canada's team during the 2004 World Championships. Didn't he miss the majority of 2003-04 with the hip injury? I definitely remember the World Cup though.
I don't even see his name on the Canadian roster for the 2004 World Championships

Lepuke is part of the Triple ***** club with Jaromir Jagr and Sidney Crosby.
Edit- I like your list of players Erica. I'm in no way ripping the other members of Triple Gold. Just the three bitches who starred or are starring for the Penguins.
