Sounds like BS to me, the IRS can't tax him for something he received for free until he sells it for a profit. Right now its just a $8 baseball, which is below the gift limit...so not taxable. I would definitely sell the ball and I'm sure this guy will, so its a pointless point by the Tax Lawyer idiot.

Am I the sole one here who isn't chilly-hearted? i might provide the ball back to Bonds. no one exterior of San Francisco likes him, yet he's achieved a very sturdy pastime under the gun this year. he's enjoying nicely inspite of this criticism. Oh, and desire I remind anybody that he hasn't examined beneficial for steroids? might you accuse somebody like Mo Vaughn (if he have been nevertheless enjoying) or David Ortiz, of taking steroids? No. Bonds is purely getting all this crap from the media with the aid of fact he's chasing background. Face it, you purely hate Bonds with the aid of fact he's going after the all time HR checklist and you do no longer want him to get it. i'm probable the sole non-San Franciscan who likes Bonds. and that i stay close to l. a., it relatively is domicile of the Dodgers, Bonds' team's selection-one rival, who somewhat hates him. i individually appreciate Bonds for what he's achieved for the sport and that i'm hoping he breaks the all time checklist. He relatively merits it, exceptionally on account that anybody has given him all this crap with the aid of fact they do no longer desire to work out Aaron's checklist get beat. cope with it!!! Alex Rodriguez is going to interrupt it interior the destiny besides. it relatively is inevitable. Why provide Bonds a stressful time while A-Rod is gonna come away with it on the top besides? he's gonna retire the two this year or next year. permit the guy bypass out in a real blaze of glory. And all you people who hate him? you do no longer possibly hate him. You all say you will possibly sell the ball for funds. Why might you sell the ball in case you do no longer care relating to the guy who hit it in any respect? believe me, you relatively do no longer hate him, you purely do no longer desire to settle for the actuality that he's gonna harm Aaron's checklist interior the subsequent month, even nevertheless A-Rod's gonna harm it in 6-8 years. shrink Bonds some slack. i'm no longer gonna have the skill to seize the ball, yet i does no longer think of two times approximately giving it back to him.

It's also not worth as much as it was when he caught, seeing as how 757 went into McCovy Cove yesterday. He'll still get a quarter of a million for it.
