I want to know more about this. It was right after September 11, there was an American Airlines plane, en route to some caribean country, crashed in Brooklyn/Bronx or something, it was like the whole neighborhood was on fire. Nobody talks about that accident, once i saw a brief story about it and said that it was caused by wind shear, but i want to know more about it. Any ideas?

The preliminary results from the National Transportation and Safety Board indicated the vertical stablizer and rudder had separated from the aircraft prior to impact. In 2002 the NTSB issued a letter requiring additional pilot training on these two items. A final report has yet to be released.
