The only people saying that are those who don't know baseball.
There's a reason Bill James ranks Biggio so high among second basemen all time. It's because Biggio was a great player for a long time. From 1992-2001, he was a monster - batting at or near the top of the order, he was always around the .380-.400 mark in OBP, and he could hit with power. And while I'm not a fan of stealing bases too often, Biggio was about as efficient as anyone could be in that category. The only reasons he didn't get more attention were that he never hit 40+ homers, and he spent his whole career under the radar a little in Houston.
The guy's a guaranteed first-ballot HOFer. Don't worry about the naysayers, because they're wrong.

I think I'm in agreement with a lot of other people on this one...
Biggio is, in my opinion, a first ballot Hall of Famer. You've got his hits, his consistency of games played, the number of times he was an All-Star, AND the fact that he continued to excel at three different positions.
Those who don't agree are, in my opinion, one of three things:
1. Not paying attention, which happens to some people who don't understand that sports are played outside of the East and West coasts.
2. Jealous. Because Biggio beat up on their teams for so many years, just like he's always done to my beloved Cardinals.
3. Ignorant of the game. I think that one speaks for itself.

Don't worry, he'll get in. I'm 100% certain of it, but it has to do with him not being an all time great. I mean, he wasn't really ever the best player on his team, much less one of the best in the game. He's a grinder. He reached the "magic numbers" but does he/did he ever really set the world on fire?
Don't get me wrong, he's a very good player, but it's, or at least it should be the Hall of FAME. Biggio doesn't resonate with me. He's just a really good guy who survived the game for a long time. I just don't understand how you can not really be one of the best in the game (top 10-15 players) at the time your playing and be a Hall of Famer.
I'm not just bagging on the dude, like I said he's very good, but you asked and that's the argument that most people who don't think he should get in are basing it on.

Biggio spent his entire career in an obscure baseball market and rarely appeared in the post season.

He will get in. Prof. Anger did put it well though. One thing I will say is that at his position, he and Alomar were the best. He did switch a few times, but for the ost part he was the best 2B for many years. I think he, Alomar, and maybe Jeff Kent will be the 3 2B to make it in the HOF oer the next few years.

I think he should get in.
It's probably because he's one of those guys you don't hear much about. He's a great player, but you never hear his name mentioned along side the other elite players in the league.
He's just one of those players that everyone knows who he is, but when you look at his stats, they jump out at you because you aren't expecting them to be as good as they are.
