To connect you should have either a broadband connection (Like cable or DSL) and then a wire to your laptop, OR, dial up (so you'd have a wire from the phone line to your modem conneciton) OR a wireless connection already in play. (YOu can click the WIFI icon in the lower right corner of your screen to see all wireless networks in y our area. Most will be secured, though.)

If you do not have a live internet connection at home, and no dial up account, take your laptop to an area where you can connect via WiFi and then you can be on the internet. Without an actual connection at home, your wireless is not going to work.

Wireless Radar in a way already exists on your computer in that your wireless connection will always give you a list of the current WiFi networks in the range of your computer. Double Left click on the WiFi icon in the system tray to see this list.

Reboot(RESTART) it once after you installed your HP for the first time. Remember that RESTART is different from SLEEP. Look on the net on how to restart a vista machine if you don't know how yet. Then let us know what kind of a internet connection you are trying to connect to. Is it wireless or wired!
