In India it is normal to eat at all restaurants with fingers. But you have to wash your hands in the Wash-Basin,before and after you eat.

No. Some cultures do not use any utensils to eat, they believe that you can only savor intensely the food if you touch it with your hands. In North America, we are brought up to believe that certain habits are not right and we end up judging people that do not have the same culture as ours;we forget that what we believe wrong here may be right and much appreciated elsewhere, like the habit of breaking plates after each meal by some Greeks. Go, enjoy your food and behave in the manner that is most suitable to you and your personality! Be happy and do not worry about what people may think of you!

Not bad (you are paying to eat there)
However, you would probably want to take note of your surroundings. It would be incredibly rude in very high class place, but in a steak house where everybody is having a good time?? Go for it.

You are definitely not a bad person, but it seems that you do not care to follow the social mores. That is fine, but just be aware that people may judge you for eating with your hands. If it doesn't bother you and that is what you prefer, then go to town! You may want to practice eating with a fork and knife in case you have to go out to a nice dinner with, say, your boss or your new partner's parents, etc.
"dig" in!

Lol a little crude, but not bad. I'll admit I like to eat things like ravioli (no sauce) with my fingers. I usually save that at home, though. When going out I find it best to blend (though I guess that means if everyone is eating steak with their fingers, join in!)

Yes, in a sense that isn't personal. People dine at fine restaurants for more than the food and that is reflected in the price. It would be inappropriate or insensitive to other diners to have such manners. In some places, eating with your fingers is fine- especially in most Ethiopia or Indian restaurants. It's only a question of what's appropriate to where you are.

You're not a bad person you just don't have the best manners. I think that you should consider using a fork and knife and spoon when dining out and save the fingers for when you are home alone.

Just for your own protection, so no one laughs or makes a comment that will upset you & ruin your meal--take a table that's out of the middle of things, & if possible, sit facing away from most people. You'll relax & enjoy yourself that way.

Not in my book. If you eat like Randy in the movie "A Christmas Story", you must be a real live one in bed :)
