goes a little overboard with the flashbacks?

i mean there in every episode, most of them are funny but theres a little too many dont you think?

i love family guy!! i agree that there are a few too many falshbacks, but sometimes they're really funny. i guess there are a little too many. i still love family guy though!

personally, i think the flashbacks make a large portion of "family guy" accessible to the fans. they are neccesary to understand plotlines and explain the current action onscreen. without them, family guy would be "the simpsons" with testicles for a chin. Also, dont you think they're pretty funny? I mean come on....the different time periods enable more depth and more opportunities for storyline than if they simply ventured forward in each episode ignoring past events. it's called a plot if im not mistaken. if you listen to the commentary in "the stewie griifin untold story" yo will gain a better appreciation for the devices used by seth mcfarlane and alex borstein.

its not that there are too many most of the time its that they're too long, sometimes they go on for a long time and the funniness wears off after a while,

Gets rather cliche wif the part that the main guy likes to get naked.
And that smart aleck lewy or something, that disgusting looking genius baby, is just shitty.
Prefer simpsons over family guy.

yeah it was funny at first but now there are too many of them from times that most people hardly know about so its hard to relate and they come at random times and they aren't as funny... they need to do somethin new... show is steadily getting less and less funny

No, its part of the show. It was funny tonight when stewie said
"like that time peter ...... oh, no flash back? i thought we had a flash back here. thats odd." its one of the greatest cartoons around , and most of the flash backs are relevant, in a very abstract sorta way.
