There are three main public Colleges/Universities in Denver. The University of Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver and the Community College of Denver. All three are located right in the downtown area and are all apart of the same campus. Websites for each institution are below.

The winters can become quite cold with a lot of snow fall on the mountains to the west of the city and the average temperature is around 50 degree but it can get to as cold as 14 degrees in the city.

There are lots are places to go and things to see in Denver and the surrounding areas. There is everything from the 16th Street Mall, LoDo and Larimer square which are populated with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Not the mention the Denver Art Museum, Botantic Gardens and Museum of Nature and Science. Other places include Denver Mint, Zoo, the Aquarium, Estes Park and of course Buffalo Bill's grave!

If you take a look at the website below you will see further attractions which might interest you in Denver and the surrounding areas.

I don't have a great deal of knowledge about affordable housing as I am currently renting in the downtown area and these prices are constantly on the rise. I would look at places like Aurora and Arvada. There is also park & ride available along with RTD's commuter rail network to get you back into downtown.

If however you are planning to enroll in one of the above Colleges/Universities there is student housing available if you are interested in that, then there is The Regency, The Inn at Auraria and Campus Village. I have provided the websites below for each.

I'm confused about a visitor needing school and housing. It doesn't matter...we've exceeded our quota of Californian validations.
