I, say that Poland is better. From many sources of information, and opinions, I found out that Poland is better than the States! First of all, after World War 2, Poland's currency as grew extremely large, and that in 26 years Poland got up in to the top 20th most economic (rich) countries in the world.

Poland has a longer and more interesting culture and history. Some of the greatest classical pianists all came from Poland. The people of Poland have also suffered endless and painful wars and terrors, and that has made the people there much stronger as they are. They have also inherited knowledge from they're country's past. They're education status is also much higher than us too. The children there work extremely hard and all have very high standards.

I'm proud that I'm American, but I really do love Poland. It definitely is my favorite country to visit. Polish people are really nice and friendly. The sites there are so beautiful, especially in Krakow. I would say Poland all the way!

It all depends upon what you mean by "better." Each country is just different and I like both. I live in the U.S. and am of Polish background, but like to visit Poland. Poland is now - since 1945 - very homogeneous. The majority of people walking around the streets are Polish and Catholic. The U.S. is very heterogeneous - mixed ethnically - which means a diversity of cultures, thinking, foods, religions, etc. I believe diversity is good.
Poland is still "pulling itself" out of the devestation caused by WWII and the Communist regime. Acceptance into the European Common Market has brought an influx of tourists and foreign investment money into the country. New building and renovation construction is happening all over the country.
With the upswing in economy comes many of the "illnesses" suffered by countries such as Britain and the U.S. - thievery, drunkeness, and vanadalism. The police are very busy over the weekends.
Schools in Poland are, for the most part, good and inexpensive. However, there are few high-level jobs for young people and new graduates with many leaving Poland for other EU countries. Schools in the U.S. - at the University and above level - are also good, but expensive. Young people and graduates can, however, find employment and advancement, if they are willing to work hards.
Food... I have eaten terrific food in both the U.S. and Poland. Food is only as good as the ingredients used to make it and the cook(s) who prepare it.

How many people are going to be able to answer this objectively rather than with the same old "national pride" answers that are placed to this kind of question time and again. Only someone who is neither Polish or American (descent) and who has lived in both can answer this, and even then it is subjective based on his/her own experiences which may be completely different to your own. Simple answer is that both countries have a lot to offer and it is personal to the individual, but the "X is better because I say so" answers are really completely useless!

Poland has far more history, they have far more ancient monuments and statues (well whats remaining after the war) And from donations across the world pumping the nation full of support they were able to create one of the most attractive and well run capitals in Eastern Europe. Everyone will argue america is better since a vast majority of people on here are amiercan, but in my OPINION america is a selfish oil thirsty war mongering nation filled with 5 guns to each resident on average. A higher PERCENTAGE crime rate, its not because theyre more populated. Not my favourite place as you can tell :/
