They can survive for at least a week or more without food. If used for food for reptiles, they must be gutloaded, which means properly fed, otherwise they are useless for nutrition. Pet stores typically do not feed their crickets well. Don't use the gel food, it's not good. Used powdered gutload made for crickets, or make your own. Crickets also need a water source--I use a shallow lid and keep it clean and fresh.

When I had my gecko the crickets that were in the seperate inclosure, before we gave them to my gecko, we had a little dish of cricket food in there. We also had a shallow bowl of water if they got thirsty this way they lived longer.

We used to have crickets for our bearded dragon and if he wouldn't eat them right away some of them would live for at least a week. We wouldn't feed the crickets, they were the food.

I would say a couple of days or until they get eaten, whichever happens first!
