People are dying left and right from hunger, lack of medicines and drinking water in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Govt does not have enough resources or money to provide relief to the flood victims. 19 million people are displaced and without food, medicines, drinking water and shelters and most of these people live in less than US$1/day. This is a human tragedy in modern era. This news was not out there because lack of media interest. As a human being, we have moral duty to help the needy regardless of any country.

Bangladeshi Americans are working hard to raise money for the flood victims. You can donate at www.changebangladesh.com for these flood victims.

I will urge every individual please be generous and help those flood victims now regardless where we live.

Thanks,

God doesn't punish people, people punish themselves from the sins they commit. If you break a rule, there is a consequence. But God doesn't do it to be a hateful God, he does it to teach us a lesson on how much he loves us and wants to see us do right. It's not just one person, it is the entire world as a whole when there is hunger, floods, earthquakes, etc. Look how terrible the world is right now. Abortions are legal, they took God out of the schools, etc. Let's just say God isn't happy.

The Peoples Republic of Bangladesh is Muslim, so one should ask: "Why is Allah punishing these people?"

Bangladesh is fertile land but it suffers from overpopulation & bad government. No one is supprised by the weather, the country simply doesn't prepare for the bad storms they know are comming.

The media ignores Bangladesh because it's been in a perpetual state of crisis for the last 30 years.

Feel free to donate at 'changebangladesh' but don't imagine this will actually change Bangladesh.

There will be another flood there in a few years, nothing will be done after this flood to help people survive the next one.

In theory we could help by changing their goverment, but last I heard neither the Muslims or the Democrats approve of that sort of thing.

I suppose you could write Osama bin Laden and recommend he direct his efforts towards helping fellow Muslims instead of killing Americans.

I dont' think God punishes people. I think people punish one another, even when things go horribly wrong like the flood in Bangladesh. However, in that country, what do you see? Sadness, pain, hunger, thirst, fear, need... And in the US, what do you see? People hurrying to their jobs, oblivious to anything around them, teenagers doing drugs "because they can" and not caring about it, people laughing at others because of their beliefs or their shortcomings. We all have eyes - we choose not to see. We all have minds - we choose not to believe. So, no, God isn't punishing us. He is trying to teach us that there are others out there that need our help, need a hand to hold onto and a shoulder to lean on. He is trying to show us that there are more important things out there other than money, out daily used electronics, new military weapons, luxury... There IS more to life than these things but as said before - we CHOOSE not to see and in doing so, we choose not to care....
