Ask her what she wants to do. Try having a tea party with her using real water. Make sure there isn't anything wrong with her physically then just try to do something fun with her. You should probably not be on the computer while watching such a young one.

I agree this is probably not some random stranger crime, but beyond that it's hard to say. Kidnapping is sure to bring massive police resources to bear, it's hard to imagine anyone taking that sort of risk just to collect a debt. And as well, I don't recall a case where a gang or criminal organization kidnapped a kid, for the same reasons. Crooks get people to pay up by making threats or beating people up, not kidnapping kids, at least in the USA. The fact that there were multiple assailants kind of rules out that this was some psycho kitty nutbar. People that are truly nuts usually operate alone, and have trouble getting accomplices in any case. "Kidnap the kid? No way Jose, count me out." My suspicion would be bad blood in the family somewhere, IE this was arranged by some relative for personal reasons. That's just a guess though, this case is so unusual that it's hard to parse. I'm curious what the FBI profilers think, but sure they will keep that quit while the investigation is ongoing. I guess Mexican drug cartels kidnap people, but usually only among themselves, and if the family was involved in Mexican drug cartels the news would have already gotten out. Strange case, hope the kid is OK.

three year olds are very active and they are just starting to realize they are individuals. she's "in the business of" becoming her own person.

usually NO means "yes"...

maybe you could get out an old deck of cards and pretend you're playing a game with her? perhaps that will keep her in one spot for a while...

take her outside to play -- let her run off some steam if you have an area where she won't get hurt?

i sure hope you get some good answers here... take care...

My son is driving crazy anybody around from his birth continually, and now he's 6 and a half. It's OK, try to endure it and don't let her command you. If you get nervous, she will, too. Probably you have at home some sleeping drops or herbs for children to make her calm. Also she might be hungry or just feel uncomfortable.

try to get her attention on something else-toy, book etc. place something in her hand and physically remove her from what she is getting into. you may not be showing her enuff attention. 3 yr olds like attention. always speak calmly to her no matter if she is screaming.a low voice tone will sometimes work. the more you react to her the more out of control she will become.remember you are the older one and she will look to you for signs on what she can get away with.

Come up with some kind of reward for her acting nice while you're babysitting. Tell her she'll get that if she stops whining.

Divert her attention. Get one of her favorite toys and see if she'll start playing with that for a while.

Get off the computer or game and play with her.
Or give her a controller and pretend she is playing the game with you.
