Yes t is gross. I left a bag in the trunk for 3 days and it turned so nasty! I got rid of the bag and the flies but the smell of the trunk went right inside the car. Even washing with tilex didn't help. What do I do? HELP!

The car stink is in the trunk. The meat was always in plastic and never leaked. What is there to reupholster? And the stink leaked into the car itself. What is there to clean? I went into the trunk and used tilex with bleach. Now what? Will it eventually disappear?

Try odo ban to clean then, here's an inexpensive and fragrance free solution that is perfect for your problem. - I know many other people that use it. It is a natural fragrance free carbon product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an incredible activated carbon filter inside that is really, really, great and eliminates odors for a long time. It works so much better than baking soda all those sprays, and fragrances that just cover up smells and doesn't get rid of them. Just place a couple of these in car and trunk. No spills or chemicals or powder to worry about. Each only costs a couple of dollars. I use this product everywhere including car(smoke and pet smells), storage, closets, my fridge and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like linens and things. I also think camping world sells it and Internet at customerservice@innofresh.com.
Definitely worth trying

So first I would remove the "ex wife in trunk" bumper sticker. Then you want to go to a janitorial supply shop and ask them for a ENZYME CLEANER of some sorts. That is the only way to get the rotting meat smell out. Good luck and next time use someone elses car.

put some coffee in the car - buy a couple of cheap bags, doesn't matter what kind, open them up - in the trunk, maybe spread out some newspapers and pour the coffee out, inside the car put the coffee into some clean filters. Coffee is what airlines use to get barf smells out of the seats and carpets - it's a good odor absorber, and not too expensive compared to having your car professionally cleaned. Good luck!

Leave all the windows down and the trunk open for as long as possible. Spray Febreeze. It worked for me when I forgot about milk and it leaked.

Tilex is for bathrooms. You may want to go to a carwash and use the shampooer to do the trunk carpet, just in case some leaked out.

You can wash the boot of the car , once you have removed the carpet with MILTON. or ant other kind of sterilizing solution used for sterilizing new born baby´s bottle´s. This will clean and leave the car smell free.

I would try a water/vinegar solution or bleach dependant of the area you're trying to cover. Then, ALOT of Febreze. If those don't work, you might have to contact a professional deodorizer service.

Have you tried scrubbing with baking soda or vinegar? A smell like that would be tough to wipe out.

in a tupperware or plastic container, put in white vinegar. place them in your car.. a few in the back seat, and the front seat. in the heat of the day it will evaporate, and get rid of the smell... it might take a few days, but it will work. i am a chef, and my butcher told me this trick. i hope it works for u, good luck.
