That's technically an A. Can't do much better than that.

As an education major, you know about assessment and testing issues. First, what is the scale of your GPA? Does your college use a 0 to 4 or a 1 to 5 grading system. Second, what are the average GPA's for your college and your department and what are the standard deviations around those averages? You can make an appointment with your department chairperson to ask these questions. Lastly, what do you want the GPA to achieve for you; how will you use this number? If it is for a job-search, you need to ask the administrations of the type of schools you will be applying to join, "what are you looking for in an applicant's GPA."

Since you can get a teaching job with any GPA it doesn't really matter. I would suggest though it is never bad to have a high GPA. As an undergraduate I have a GPA of 2.79, but when I went back to get my TCP my GPA was a 3.91 - I have been teaching now for 14 years. I have no idea if that will help you. All I can say is a GPA in order to get a teaching job isn't that important - getting into graduate program however (and you will need to get a Master eventually) does make having a high GPA important.

Good Luck!!!

I am an elementary Ed major, too, and at my school my cumulative GPA must be over 3.5 to be able to graduate with my bachelors degree. Mine is currently a 3.65, so as long as I only get A's and B's, I should be good! I think that GPA is fine too, but you should always work hard at classes, because you never know when one will happen to be really hard and you get a poor grade. Good luck! What grade do you want to teach?

Thats a GPA that you should be very proud of! I hate to tell you though that many employers don't even ask about your GPA if you don't offer to put it on your resume. However, with such a high GPA, you should feel confident to put it on your resume because it obviously took a lot of hard work to earn it!

Congrats!

Sounds pretty good! However, don't take the minimalist approach and only get "good enough" grades. Get as high as you think you can achieve. Anything less is cheating yourself. There is no "should it be higher" when concerning grades. They should be passing, but by how much is purely up to you.

That obviously depends upon the degree to which grade inflation has taken over your school, but I can tell you that in my department, we only have one or two students with GPAs that high out of several hundred.
