If not, will he at least play next year? and if he does, will it be one of these 3-4 month type contracts he has gotten the past 2 years. I think people should come to the conclusion that Roger isn't juicing anymore (come on people, the guy was roiding, lots of speculation out there, which made him be a power pitcher, longevity well into his 40's) and he's not worth 15-20 million. If he comes back next year, I think teams should only sign him IF HE IS GOING TO PLAY THE FULL YEAR. And if so, he is worth, in my opinion - 10-15 million.

Ok people, whoops, I know I messed up, why is everyone saying why did you put it in the football, don't you realize that I made a mistake, deal with it. You can't switch categories after posting it, can you? and if so, how?

No way he gets 400. I agree with you about the steroids. He has to be juicing.

No. Absolutely not. He's overpriced and underacheiving. If he does come back, he wont have more than 8 wins in any given season, so he would need at least another 6 or 7 years to make it to 400. Being a professional baseball player at 52 years old is a stretch, even for the rocket.
So, in closing, this is the football section. So unless the Raiders pick him up, you should head back to the baseball section.

I suppose there is always a chance. He has good win totals this year, but his ERA is up over five. I think he'll pitch this year and next but that might be it. Maybe finish around 270 wins. A great career for someone with no fastball who was almost out of baseball in the early 90s. I would love to see it, Moyer is one of the really good guys in baseball, and he was outstanding in Seattle but I don't think he'll make it to 300.

Clemens will play as long as some fool owner is willing to pay him a ridiculous amount of money to pitch a few games for them. If your boss would pay you your current salary and allow you to work only 25 or so days a year, wouldn't you jump at it? Put this garbage question in baseball where it belongs.

He will not be back next year. He is getting embaressed this year! We will never see anyone reach 400 wins in our lifetime. The people who did that made 45-50 starts in a year. Now your lucky to make 33-35 starts.

He is a great pitcher and all but there is no chance he will get 400 wins. No one will continue to pay him the money that he wants. Plus he only pitches half a season.

Being a Yankees fan, I would love to see Rocket pitch for us next year. However, I'm not stupid. He needs to retire after this season. I have a feeling his age is catching up to him. FYI-Clemens never used steroids. Also, he plays baseball, not football. So, next time post your question in the correct category

no he will not make it. thats another 4 or five years depending on if he gets 10 wins a year and only playing half the year hurts.

i dont see him getting to 400 but i guess you never know....but especially because he doesnt seem to play an entire season anymore.....i would think that for him to get to 400 he would have to playing at least 5 more years......dont see that happening!

Doesn't matter what you think he's worth-Steinbrenner is the one that pony's up the money. If he wants to pitch (a baseball, not a football) when he's 60, that's his business.
