You can ask the same of BET, which is the epitome of buffoonery in my humble opinion.

I would like to see the world's reaction if a White Entertainment Channel was created or if a channel geared specifically towards STRAIGHT people was introduced.

No different than any other channel out there that is designed for that specific audience. The religious channels, home shopping channels, Lifetime, plus you have sports channels also strictly dedicated to golf, the NFL, soccer, tennis, college sports, etc. I know I watch the NFL Network quite a bit...but I also am a huge NFL fan. Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks.

Why are you concerned? Watch them if you know what they are and see for yourself what is in those shows. I personally don't care what they put on the air. There is a whole network devoted to cooking. There are stations with home improvements all day long. There are many sports channels that run and rerun sports 24/7. There is the fashion channel and several movie channels. BET is popular in the African American community and of course there are stations that run the porno stuff. Watch whatever you want. I don't watch any of the things I just mentioned but for those who enjoy that stuff let them enjoy and don't get your knickers in a twist over it.

I've wondered the same thing about 'Christian programming.' But I'd guess the show things of interest to the GLBT community. I don't really know but I'd speculate that they don't show programs that make themselves look silly or broadcast hate messages unlike some other channels. And to the idiot that posted next: The channels for straight people are Vivid, Playboy, etc... And don't get me started on the publications combined it's a $12 billion industry.

To spell it out, they have their own channels because there is a market for it.

I believe we would reach more of the lost and encourage more of the brother and sister hood; if the Network was more like other networks (but keep true to our Christian hertiage). I should that appeal to the young and teenager and family with shows that have Biblical truths. The shows could be about people with faith and put them in real life situations. The network today only draws in the older population of Christians. I believe the network should promote the Christian experience. There is more to the Christian experience than being preaching.

I have seen things on Logo-it is specifically geared for gay and lesbian audiences. It deals with subjects that a lot of homophobic people would not want to watch. Like gay relationships and the challenges that gay people face day to day. It is not so out of the realm of possibility for gays to have their own channel if BET is for african-americans. Thousands and thousands of channels and nothing worth watching on any of them...

Everyone has their own channel these days. People with specific interests will naturally want to be able to see programming from time to time that caters to those interests. I'm sure that women don't just watch Lifetime (Or We, or Oxygen...geez...three channels for one group) or golf fans just The Golf Channel (Yes, it exists). It exists because there will be people willing to watch it, and advertisers willing to advertise on it. That's capitalism. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm straight, but if people want a gay channel so be it.

Let the marketplace work. If there are good ratings, it will stay on. If not, not.

If people object, they don't have to watch, and they can start their own network with the programming THEY would like to see.

OK by me. Capitalism rules! :)

I guess it's looked at like Univision (Spanish) or BET (Black Entertainment TV), et cetera. So that's probably it. A channel geared towards a certain group or segment. Even though anyone can watch these channels and do.

Because people like that may take different things on our channels offensive so they must have a channel they can watch.
