The truth is that the Iraqi government went on vacation in August to conceal the fact that there is no viable Iraqi government. The Sunnis left the government before parliament went on vacation.
So while this poorly timed vacation seems like a thoughtless slap
in the face of the American public and our troops, it is actually an attempt to deceive the American public, just before the reports to Congress in September, into believing that a political solution in Iraq is possible. A political solution is not possible, because there is no Iraqi government to formulate that solution.
We've been here before. There always appears to be progress in Iraq when the efforts in Iraq are questioned. Later we find out the truth. HERE WE GO AGAIN.

Not much more to say here. I am just glad none of my immediate family is at risk in Iraq. Bush should be ashamed of how he and his crew have bungled this Iraq war and all other opportunities to serve this nation in a positive and productive manner. His presidency is a dismal failure and unfortunately his decisions have drastically and needlessly had a negative effect on the lives of thousands of American citizens. We haven't even begin to know the fallout from the last eight years of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.
