my family calls every "cupboard" a cabinet, but in this situation I would just say cabinet for the bathroom

Bathroom cabinets. You also may have closets, some folks call them linen closets in the east. Hope this helps and have a good day.

I think they are still called cupboards. At least that's what I call them. They serve the same purpose in both places.

cabinets on the bottom and medicine cabinets on the top. I don't know why we name the things we do, I dont have any medicine in my bathroom cabinet. and I don't have any cups in my cupboards. lol
