*meaning history - not what they wrote long ago, but they`re newest creations.

Dean Koontz has written some exceptional work, recently finished The Face in about 1/2 day. I even walked to the kitchen to gets drinks and stuff whilst reading it. On the other hand, King is the original, and his early work is magnificent.

I am, however, strugggling to get into The Dark Tower at the moment - so have resorted to Dolores (hee hee easier reading.)

Sorry - not one to normally sit on the fence, but this time I call a draw.

I've never been a great fan of Dean Koontz but I do think Stephen King's new stuff isn't as good as his old stuff was. I did love the Dark Tower series and thought the last book was pretty good but not the best. I'd still rate him over Koontz though I think.

I think Dean Koontz has improved and is now writing his best stuff, Stephen King on the other hand does not seem to be coming close to his earlier novels.

I happen to like Dean Koontz's books better. While I like Stephen's ideas, I don't like the way he writes.

Stephen King retired...but he'll be the best forever and ever.

Nothing against dean koontz and I love his writing, but he can never come close to Dean Koontz.

They have two distinctly different ways to spin a tale. I would have to go with SK for his intensity. His novels are way more graphic than Koontz's works. He can scare the hell out of me. His son Joe Hill is taking after the old man. His book The Heart Shaped Box is a treat.

I absolutely love Dean Koontz and I own several of his novels. BUT I can not wait until Dan Brown writes another novel I own all 4 others that he wrote and he is a fantastic edge of your seat writer.

Dean Koontz is on a completely higher level to King.

Language is better, ideas are more unique and characterisation is far deeper.
