Ok.... I really think its a good thing... It keeps the minorities safe.
and is it just me, or are the only people that happen to be griping about it White? I mean... Why would you want to risk offending anyone anyway - cant we all just be curious, without anyone telling us to do so?

Political Correctness helps to keep us all a little safer.
I am white, though raised as a minority in an American Indian village (that was a blessing) and now live in a small city that has a majority Mexican American population, a blessing until many Anglos with bad/ignorant attitudes including frat/sorority types many from Texas and E. New Mexico, retirees from red states who attempt to run down small Mexican American children in the streets, and Californians who open small poorly run businesses and like to blame the locals when they fail, began to move in and force the various groups to separate and hate, (the native Anglos get along with everyone just fine). Now I see the local Mexican Americans as part of the problem but I have no doubt who started it.
Political correctness is just good manners, however I do like good-natured irreverence every now and then.

In that YA is a politically correct forum, I'm not allowed to tell you what I really think of political correctness because I'd get a violation notice. I can tell you, though, that people who bow at the alter of political correctness are willingly giving over their free speech to forces who do not have their best interest at heart. I happen not to worship that god.

Thanks to this PC crap, we've got teenagers running amok, thinking they own the world because parents and teachers are too afraid to speak up thinking a lawsuit will be brought up against them. And as for minorities, why should they be kept any safer than the rest of us? I think the whole thing is crap and we should go back to the way things used to be. Maybe whites complain so much because they have become the new minority in this country and therefore, have lost alot of jobs that now go to the lower paid minority. Get off it. The U.S. is on a downward spiral if we keep this crap up.

No, I don't. Political correctness just sugar coats the negative, in my opinion. Like saying 'no offense' when you're about to completely offend someone. I'd much rather people just be straight forward.

I try not to be rude, but I am in NO way politically correct.. All this PC nonsense has succeeded in doing is creating a generation of whiney, demanding, entitlement mentality people.

For someone to be rude, have no tact, or be a racist whether they say it in a politically correct way or not is never acceptable.

If you hold particular thoughts that degrade others unlike yourself, you shouldn't be able to unleash them unabashedly on the public.
confine the racists thoughts to yourself
