My Steve has been gone for a year and a half, but I can remember the day we met so well. It was May 9, 1985. It was Steve's birthday, and my friend Marie introduced me to him as his birthday present. I remember thinking he was an awfully attractive young man of maybe 16 or 17, possibly 18, and couldn't figure what he wanted with an old lady like me (38) for a present, unless it was just to learn about sex.
He was 27 that day. He had only recently shaved his beard off, and looked so very young he let it grow back and never shaved it off again.

"Wow he is a really hard working aboriginal" I am in Australia and when I first saw my hubby I thought he was Aboriginal but he is South African hehehe. I asked him what subjects he was doing at school and he said "chemistry, physics, applicable, calculus, english and history" I was intimidated to find out he was smarter than me and did not talk to him after that for quite some time (we worked together at a take away chicken place). The first time I saw him when I realised i was attracted to him was when he was in my drive through and I though "Wow thats a nice car" And thats the story of my true love hehehe. Oh and by the way I wasn't being racist with my Aboriginal comment I just was amazed because I have never met an Aboriginal who did well in school before.

"These pigs wanna blow my house down, go underground, to the next town, they get mad when they come to raid my pad, and I'm out in the night instead"(Cypress Hill) I think of all the cadets at the college I attend, and how "prissy" they are to be becoming some of the least revered individuals in society. I've had friends that were cops, and they turned out to be worse than the friends I had who were criminals. How many times have you seen police on T.V. newscasts who spoke eloquently and had things completely under control?

That was almost 27 years ago... (been married 26 years, 4 kids between ages of 19 and 25 - we got married at 18)
When I first saw her, I thought she was pretty, and I wondered what she was doing. (You gotta understand, one of my best friends took me over to her house to meet his girlfriend's sister, as a sorta blind date. We arrived at midnight! Paula (my wife) was sitting in a chair, watching TV and crocheting a blanket or something. I was like, 'what's she doing?'
She did not seem real interested in getting to know me, ha ha.
But I persisted, and here we are almost 27 years later, still in love, and still growing in love! She is my best friend.

I know this sounds like a load of B.S. but honest to God; I first saw my husband when i was 23, he was 33; lol, we were at a bar (I know bad but whatever) and I said to my best friend "oh my God, who is that, I'm want to marry him!" and 6 years later; after 5 1/2 years of dating, we're married, very VERY happily. It was one of those weird, I just knew kind of deals. He was a real pain in my *** too but I got him :)

He's cute and has a twinkle in his eye like a child. I didn't think that he would be interested in me, though. I'm on the plus size side and he was a small man at the time. But, here we are 9+ years later and he's still just as interested in me as I am him. Who would've thought?

The first thing I thought was...
"I better get a flak-jacket and a helmet...and some knee-pads...and plenty of extra-large glow-in-the-dark condoms...
"And renew my life insurance policy...and...
"I wonder what kind of flowers she likes...?!?"
