I just heard CCR's "Who'll Stop the Rain?" on the raido, and I happened to think that that particular line in the chorus sounded similar to Duran Duran's "Hold Back the Rain," that line in that song's chorus. The lines are similar lyrically, and I kind of thought they sounded similar musically as well. Has anyone else noticed that?

I never would have drawn that parallel in a million years. These two bands could not be any more different from each other. Sure the words are close, but the sound and style are light years apart. So many bands have lyrical content about the rain. Why? I am not sure. I'll chalk it up to random coincidence. I loved DD back in the day.

Egads - I never ever thought I'd hear a CCR/Duran Duran comparison. I think my head might explode.

If I never heard another CCR song again, I could die happy.

CCR just smokes DD. Some of the best music of the 60s and 70s came from CCR. I can't say that DD was some of the best of the 80s. Nuthing better than swamp boogie music.
