Gas at my local walmart (murphy usa) is about 10cents cheaper than the other gas stations around. Is the gas watered down or anything like that?

No. Murphy USA gas is at the same high standards of other companies out there. States have a department that regulates gas dealers to make sure you are getting in quality and quantity what you are paying for. If you ever have any doubts about gas from any vendor contact your state government to file a complaint. Also you can ask the store manager as well about where they get their gas.
As for stores closing it happens, due to markets and competition, not due to bad product.

theres gotta be some reason about 50 of them closed. The one by me closed and had a letter about how 50 some Murphy USA's are closing, didn't have a reason though, can't be good if they are closing...
