I have always been told that 2 wrongs do not make a right but according to an article I recently read online in the Baptist Press if it isn't right it is at least better.
In a story discussing an "ex-gay" they say:
"Although Glatze's new religion of Mormonism denies essential elements of Christianity, his story of leaving homosexuality is nonetheless significant."
http://www.sbcbaptistpress.org/BPnews.asp?ID=26210
If his conversion to Mormonism denies essential elements of Christianity, in their eyes he must still be going to hell. I do not see why they are so happy about this.
Can anyone clear this up for me? Am I missing something? Or do they just have an anti-gay agenda where anything bad for gays is good for Christianity?

No, Dearest, I don't think you're missing the point. I think that Glatze missed the point. Instead of confessing up to his drug usage and party-animal lifestyle, it seems that he and the Church allowed the full blame to be laid right on his homosexuality rather than his substance abuse. You didn't miss a thing. You hit it right on the head, which might not be a bad idea for those who wrote that article.... naughty naughty me.

OK, I'm a Mormon, born and raised. There is a lot about my religion that I don't agree with but I will let you in on something. Please don't get me wrong this comment does NOT go out to you, it's to all the baptist that believe I'm not a christian. Mormon's (Latter Day Saints, the proper name) believe in God the same way every other Christian based religion does. Baptist only believe that they are the true christian and everyone else will go to hell. You know, the fear of God tactic.
Now the Mormons believe in not condemning anyone. We spent many, many years running from people who were killing us because of our religion. That is why the Mormon religion settled in Utah in the 1800's.
I personally believe that the whole article was written to bash on both gays and Mormons. Please remember the source, baptist believe that dancing is a sin! If it's not you or me they are bashing on, it'll be someone else. They have nothing better to do with their time than to brainwash their followers. It's almost like the Nazi party all over again.

Oh My GOD! I don't even KNOW where to start on this one... I'm sorry I could only laugh at this story as it makes absolutely NO sense, nonewhatsoever! And why is this on the news again? Oh! I forgot! This is to spread the gospel of the Christian Agenda and the concept of "Intelligent Design."
It is true! Two wongs do make it white!
After reading more of Baptist Press, all I can say is WOW! These people are somethin!

Two wrongs never make a right, on either side. I have many gay, bi, & straight friends & we all treat each other with love & mutual respect. Unfortunately the people who make being gay an issue in anything are usually fighting their own demons & you will probably not change their minds. There is just too much fear on their part. May be if the gay community & their supporters took the high road & responded to their wrongs with Christain principles they might begin to see the error of their ways. We teach more by our actions than we ever will with our words. & remember, there are true Christains & those who use Christianity as a weapon. Sometimes it is best just to shake their dust from your clothes & move on.

2 wrongs do not make a right. If you are a Christian who believes Gays and Mormons are going to hell then who cares i a Gay becoes Mormon and "is cured" - they are still going to hell in your eyes and that is wrong.
Never encourage someone to be wrong because it is "less wrong" - is is better to murder a family of 4 than a family of 5? no murder is murder and it is all wrong.

i second ms riverotter.
churches and religious, esp the fundies, are often the best example of not practicing what they preach. one of the great ironies of organised spirituality.
