I live in the UK now but am a US citizen and a lot of my family is there. My problem with the UK is just house prices and taxes. It doesn't look like my generation stands a chance at being comfortable without parental help, which I won't get. But I have quite mixed feelings on the US too, even though I think life would be a lot easier there...

While the UK has it's great points, you have to consider the economics and opportunities.

At dollars to the pound and with the tax and housing differences, there is no question it is cheaper to live in the US.

That being said, the US is a very large country and each area has its own benefits and problems.

It is up to you to decide what you like to do with your time. Remember. unless you have a career that can only be performed in a limited area, move to an area for it's lifestyle and cost of living. Most people change jobs more than once during their careers and moving because of a job often results in problems.

Decide where You want to live then find the job/income that allows you to live as comfortably as possible.

Additionally, if you are over 21 or out of Uni, let your folks spend their own money and make it on your own.

The UK.

Financially I think I would be worse off if I livedin the US. Prices on average about the same. The pay is generally worse. Most people I have met have had two jobs and their partner seems to work as well.

Employees in the UK get double the holidays than in the US.

The climate and geology in the UK is generally fairly mild. The winters are milder than the Northern US. The summers are milder than the south. We don't get hit with hurricanes or torandoes. There are no earthquakes.

The distances in the US are also too far. If I wanted to visit most of my friends not living in my home town, I can drive and be back the same day. For me to achieve this in the US, I'd have to fly if my friends were living in comparable towns/cities.

well, I think I'd stay in the US. I still want to travel to the UK but it is much cheaper to live here and there are more job opportunities. There are many different areas you can live in so while one place might not be right for you another might be. anyways. goodluck.

UK. The US is going nuts. Our President and AG are liars and our Congress is ineffectual.
