I live in Maryland (United States), I am a former auto mechanic, and I have a special card to purchase freon for cars. I am wondering if this card will allow me to buy R-22 freon for my home central A/C system? Do they still sell freon in one pound cans or only 30 pound tanks?

Thanks!!!!!

R-22 comes in 30 lbs cans. I have never seen 1 lbs. cans in my 30 years. As for your license you may be OK but you will have to go to a HVAC service supply store to find the freon most likely and they will require your CFC license before they will sell to you.

You have the license, I would call the supplier and ask them. As to cans of R-22 being available at K-Mart, I have my doubts. If anything it would be R134a. good luck

R12 remains attainable yet high priced and you are able to desire to have a certification to purchase it... What it somewhat is is they now no longer manufacture it, yet there remains some attainable. i think of its the 609 try you are able to desire to take to get the cert... returned however, its high priced, you will extra effective than probably be extra useful off change the device to R-134a...
