Well, suppose you won a billion dollars in a lottery, then were diagnosed with terminal cancer the next day. What would you rather have -- money or health?

Or suppose you were happily married to the love of your life, and s/he suddenly died and left you lonely, but with a big pile of life-insurance money. What would you rather have -- money or love?

Or let's say you rub a magic lamp and the genie gives you a choice: (1) You can be rich but unhappy all your life, or (2) you can be poor but happy all your life. What do you prefer -- money or happiness?

No, in my opinion, money is not the most important thing in life. Not by a long shot.

Wrong. It is far, far behind true love, happiness, amusement, fun, friendship, peace, grace, patience, good will, charity, and honesty... none of which require money.

I look at it this way: if I could only have money OR happiness or money OR love, I wouldn't choose money. Money can help increase your happiness, but it can also bring you down or destroy your happiness. Money breeds greed and selfishness, which destroy the things that matter most in life. So I would argue that it is not as important as any of the things above.

You have a long and emotionally deprived life ahead of you until you realize that money is nothing but a tool, not unlike the person that made up that statement about money.

Shallow people assume money will solve all their problems when all money does is pay bills of one sort or another.

Money is a tool of exchange; paper with printing on it. It can't buy you happiness, love or a single extra minute to your life.
Happiness is in the heart and mind and has nothing to do with money. Until you understand that, you'll never be truly happy.

Hi,

You're right, and as amazing as it seems, it does'nt cost
much for money to be printed. Which by the way is not
backed by anything except the "Confidence" that we put
to its use and value as a daily commodity for survival.

Absolutely wrong. Peace of mind comes in at Number One. With it, money is secondary.

I know that without enough money we can't eat or have a comfortable place to live and people that say money doesn't matter are free loaders. They probably live off someone else that is working their buns off so the free loader can have a place to live and pizza to eat.
