I've been off BC pills for 2 years now but I wanted to take BC pills so I would not get my period on my vacation (leaving Saturday). I took one yesterday morning and then yesterday afternoon I started spotting. If I stop taking the pills, will this throw my hormones into a state that will prolong my period? or Should I continue taking them?

Take your pills one day at a time at the same time each day.

Even if you stop you could still get your period.

You waited until it was too late to try to trick your period into not coming for the weekend. If you would have started it at least a month ago it might have worked.

I think you have to take them longer than that to keep your period from coming, but I'd keep taking them even though you're spotting. Going off them now might upset your cycle and cause you to keep bleeding...staying on them could shorten the period so you won't have it on vacation, or the pills might not do anything at all. I think you have a better chance of no period if you keep taking them, though. Good luck!

You already started them, so I would just keep going. It must have been time for your period, so the BC will not stop it. It may however make the period a little shorter. If you would have started sooner, it would have been easier to push your period back. Good Luck!
