YES! Definitely ... this last year is the FIRST year of my life that this Long Term Single Parent has lived life as an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ... and you know what -- the PEACE, the QUIET, the ability of being FREE to do what I want when I want, to go places I want to see, and yes, to be able to ENJOY my Pensions a BIT TOO is all MORE than I expected it to be ... and ...

I DEFINITELY am ENJOYING Life more now ... because I FINALLY Am taking care of the one person forgotten over all these years ... ME!

Addendum .... the only thing I did not anticipate was that I would be set up for a "Blind Date" ... and given that it has been approximately 2 decades since I've had a date (I am a long term divorcee), this is really stressful ....

In terms of last year? Yeah, I knew I would be here. It was an inevitability. But in terms of a few years ago? Most definitely not. Especially considering what I've done throughout high school.

But life never seems to go as planned, now does it?

Last year, yes, I knew I'd be here. Years ago did I think that? No way. I thought I'd be dead. I'm serious. I have health issues that I thought would kill me by now.

At the computer when I should be elsewhere? NO.

Workwise - oh yes. Top of the tree and planning to stay there

I did plan this. But it's not working out quite like I'd hoped, so I'm working on the next great adventure...

No I didn't. But I don't plan my life. I let it happen and follow the curse according to circumsances not plans.

Am I happy...yes to some degree...but I know I can be happier.

I had no idea. Things change, and all you can do is hope you end up somewhere better than before!
