S O S is an International distress call which means Save Our Souls. Simple to remember in Morse code as , dot dot dot dash dash dash dot dot dot.
Miranda. SOS is generally accepted as meaning Save our Souls although you are correct that the letters bear no particular meaning and you got your Morse Code wrong
