They feels old because someone has made them feel old and insignificant. This is habitually done by teenagers who do not realize they will get old. (well, some of them will).
I only feel old when someone in my family doesn't rely on my answers anymore. I feel old when I don't know all the rap songs or actually hate them. Mostly, I feel old when I am bored and that is more feeling sorry for myself and I just pull myself out of it and I am okay.
You are the only one who can make yourself feel old. I really snicker a lot when I see the teenagers having to go through stuff I went through. I could help them but they wouldn't listen anymore than I did.
Life is great, just sometimes lonely without a partner, but rather be alone than having a horrible partner.

"Age" is in the perception of the person involved. If you still have your health and you can get around easily, I wouldn't let anything like some arbitrary number affect how you feel and act.
So what if you are 60 on the outside...just look into the core of yourself, and find that inner person. I betcha that she is a lot younger than that outer envelope of flesh that surrounds her.
And then just act true to your inner being. If she happens to be an enlightened and fierce 30 year old, who tools around in a red sports car and thumbs her nose at "tradition" and "expectations" then so be it!!
As to Merrybodner's snide remark about your lack of English skills...at least Billie has an excuse since English is a third or fourth language to her. What is your excuse for your rudeness?

Gee Bill S, I don't feel that way at all. I watched my mom as she aged and she sure was on the go at 60, 65, 70 and 75!
She didn't really get "old" until she got sick at 78. Only then did I notice a change in her (i.e., walks slower, thinks slower, more naps, forgetfulness, etc.).
But still, because she has me, she still active cause I keep her young, despite of her chronic disease. We are truly blessed to have each other. She's 79 1/2 now.

I was once told by the Chief of Medicine at one of the Naval hospitals I served in that those who are feeling old in advance of stated age are failing to exercise their brain. It's an organ that needs exercise, just like the heart, lungs and limbs. Compare the active older Americans with those who sit around the senior center, staring into nothingness.

Age is just a number & it's how you feel in your heart that really matters. I'm 60 & feel like "30" but it's because I feel so young at heart. Spending time with my grandchildren keeps me feeling young too. I keep myself busy & take time to truly smell the roses. Life is good. ~lol~ <3

When I hit 60 the aches and pains, and the this and that started. Yes I do feel old and verify it when I look in the unforgiving mirror.
