Orgasm releases endorphins (which is a naturally occurring chemical that is in the same general family as morphine). The perfect mood elevator, muscle relaxant, and pain reducer. As such, an orgasm will, indeed, relieve the pain of menstruation (and headache, and most other aches and pains), but only as long as the extra endorphins are swimming around in your bloodstream.
Some men think that sex during menstruation is icky (in conversation once about this, a 40+ man actually used the word "icky" with me ), some think nothing of it, and there are those who think it's better than at any other time. It just depends on their own personal beliefs and opinions. It can be messy, but that's why they invented showers. Taking care of things on your own is a perfectly acceptable solution.

That is what I've heard also, have always wanted to help out but hve not been lucky enough to do so. Also that an orgasm(good round of sex) helps with other pains and discomforts. If it work y don't more women use it, or at least ask for some help. I find nothing wrong or offensive about it. It is a part of life. I know many women r very proud and find this personnel private, but hey life goes on.

I have never heard of this before, but i would imagine it would work. After an orgasm all the muscles in the pelvic region relax and so I would imagine this would go a long way to at least lessen the pain, if not ease it altogether. Interesting theory.

I think that is because when women start being sexually active, this problem tends to just go away...or at least get better. I don't think it is the orgasm...it is the sexual activity that changes things. But not always...some women deal with this all their lives.
When I was younger there were exercises you could do as well....I took a gym class just for that. So do some research in the library...you can probably find out about them.

yes it can help a lot...it depends how bad the period pain is though. a slight period pain then yes it works a treat. really bad period then i doubt it. best cure for bad pain is a long hot bath, painkillers and snuggling up in bed with a hot water bottle resting on your tummy and a nice big mug of hot chocolate. .........................and yes you can DIY. depending on how much pain you are in you may not feel like having someone join in. i find the best answer is to go it alone then if you need to stop as its not working then you wont feel obliged to carry on for the sake of your partner.
also a glass of flat coca cola works. it has to be flat. if you cant wait for a glass to go flat then stir it for a while untill it is no longer bubbling or pour a glass's work of coke into an empty bottle and slosh it around untill it goes flat.....this is an old indian cure for tummy ache. it sounds strange but my gp told me about it and when i tried it it actually worked.

the best is a heating pad, which they make now so you don't need a homemade one anymore. It just sticks to your pelvis/ab area and it heats up. Super cool. Otheriwse um... I ex once said something something about having sex, and such but really I just have sex to get rid of my period faster, which does help hahaha. or maybe I just use that as an excuse to have sex in the shower. haha Or maybe the heat from the two bodies during sex just helps to ease the pain.

It has worked in the past for me, unfortunately the relief is over once your body relaxes again.
Take some pain meds and orgasm until they kick in.

an orgasm is the perfect remedy for everything! lol I don't think it will do much in the long run...but a temporary fix it is! I could be wrong...but it never did anything for me to ease period pain permanently.
and by the way...don't be embarrassed, the only bad question is an unasked one.

THIS CAN HELP...
• A piece of fresh ginger (adrak), ground and boiled in a cup of water. The infusion is taken thrice daily after meals along with sugar.
• Boil 1 teaspoon saffron (kesar) in ½ cup water. Let it reduce to become 1 tablespoon. Divide this decoction into three portions and take with equal quantities of water, thrice daily for a couple of days
and also good enough rest and sleep and nutritious food.

I have also heard that and a friend swears by it. I never feel like sex when I have a period so can't say if it works from my own experience. I also imagine that it could be messy and guys may be turned off by it, my girlfriend assures me that neither is a concern!
