Look at all the countries that have it & is working well for them. Are they richer than us? More advanced perhaps?

A note to the naysayers: Wake up people...the drug companies are brainwashing you!
I've had better healthcare when traveling overseas than I've had here at home in the USA...and I have excellent healthcare coverage.

Why do they call it "Universal" when we only want to cover the nation?

I've asked this question a few times here and my assumption is that those against it are too stupid to realize that the extra taxes paid out will be offset by the fact that they will have no medical premium or copays to be responsible for. Those whose employers are paying 100% of their medical will have more take home to use, as your employer will more than likely increase your base pay to offset the fact they don't have to pay medical.
Did I mention that moving to Universal Healthcare will actually STIMULATE the economy and job growth? Companies typically pay 20-30% of their payroll towards insurance. That's a big savings if it's not coming out of their pockets.

You gotta be loopy, its shown repeatedly returned that socializing drugs and its practices doesnt artwork.i'm going to apply Canada. Why do they arrive right here for operations, you ever ask your self approximately that?possibly with the aid of fact by using the time your docs appointment has come, your ineffective already(great plan). yet another ingredient is that in case you smoke will the government settle on that they wont supply you healthcare,or whether you drink,or are fairly obese, wouldnt they supply concept to this possibilities to make your coverage null and void? As for the government helping out on the bill, how a lot of human beings circulate to the emergency room on a regular basis, that cant pay.Are they denied therapy....NO! Why would everybody of their precise concepts desire to furnish away that lots freedom and administration over their lives to the government?

Deport ALL Illegal Aliens.
Secure US Borders with Advanced Fences and other Technology. $15B-$20B for Fences, additional Border Agents and still money left to burn the first year.
Cut ALL Social Services to ALL Illegal Aliens with a 60 day notice except Emergency Medical Care.
This would all free up over $80B per year. Plenty of $$ to help cover the Legal US Citizens/Residents without Healthcare Coverage.
National Heathcare Coverage overseen by the Gov will not work. M.Ds will NOT be dictated to how much they can charge or make.

I don't believe you should have to pay for health care socialized medicine (As you Americans call it) is a great idea it means that everyone can get the treatment they need when they need it not just the rich. Dose not it seem fair that the people with lots of money should help look after the people who don't have as much?
I much prefer living in a country where i know that if i get sick ill get treatment and not have to worry about the bill after wards. Where i wont be turned away because i don't have health insurances.....

because they're afraid of how much more they think they would be paying. But as it's never happened yet, how would they know what the change would be, and which direction it would go?
Considering all the middlemen in the healthcare process and the fact that we are not only paying our doctors and our insurance, we are paying them also... we may actually end up paying less if we get a nationalized plan.
Especially if we find ways to curb the cost of prescriptions.

Because the medical industry (encompassing insurance, medical, and pharmaceuticals) spent
SIX HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS
on a misinformation campaign when Hillary did all her research and went before Congress to try to open up dialogue in the country about the issue.
How many medical services at reasonable cost could have been provided to Americans for 600 million dollars?
Seems like they got their money's worth!
Americans are SO gullible.

They (opponents of HC) don't know a thing about economics, don't actually undertstand the current system, have no sense of nationhood, and/or view one's actual personal health as a direct and thorough reflection of one's devotion to God (if not also to George Bush).
Sorry for the snide reply, but I find the opposition to be wholly uninformed, wholly without the capacity for self-reflection, and wholly lacking in any capacity to acknowledge that the American Way on healthcare is shunned, rather than emulated or envied, worldwide. I'm just tired of it.

I have often wondered this also.
Maybe because the worlds first national healthcare was introduced in Britain in 1946 under a socialist govt, just at the beginning of "the red menace" scare that was about to sweep America. Something that has never really gone away.
Therefore an American NHS smacks to many US citizens (alright, most Republicans) as horrific socialism, and in their eyes socialism equals communism.
Can't understand why, though. Having had many socialist policies and implementations here in Britain, at no point have we had any kind of Stalinist regime. Quite the opposite infact, when you consider Thatcher...

because the red scare is still surging through the blood of america. and this administration would be nothing without money from insurance companies lining their pockets. those companies and their government counterparts are making money off of the healthcare worries of good americans. if we were not living in constant fear of socialization, we would not be making them money. we would also not be suffering and dying off by the thousands because of inadequate healthcare, but that's another story.
