I'm glad you added details to clarify this question. No, I am not addressing my answers to anyone in particular, except for the person who asked the question, of course. And I rarely direct questions to specific categories of people, never to individuals, which is a violation of Community Guidelines.
However, if you asked whether I am visualizing anyone in particular, or any class of people, when I ask questions: yes, sometimes I am. Lots of my questions are directed at people enough younger than myself to represent surrogate sons or daughters, even grandsons or granddaughters. I suppose it sounds pretentious, but since I have no children of my own, I figure I should share my experience and knowledge with you young folks here on Answers.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no is the answer to: do I have a person in mind when I ask or answer questions. Well mostly 'answer'. I don't ask a lot. If I know a question relates to a situation one of my contacts is going through I might respond and star the question in the hope that they too might notice it and it may help them. Or if I think someone might be interested in a question I might answer it and hope they too will see it. Other times I answer questions because I feel I can help the asker or because the question interests me or makes me think.

When either asking or answering any question - do I have a particular person in mine or possible group of persons that might benefit from this?
Yes : ) Sometimes. Mostly the questions that I might ask is something that I need to know. Especially in the music or electronics of music equipment.

When I answer a question, I am considering the person who ask it, and my answers are based on common sense and my life experiences. I have had a long life & I am grateful for that gift. I am honest & clear in my description & my intent to help others. That is my sole reason for being on Y/A.
Hubby & I are leaving in the morning for a week on the sugar white sands of the gulf of Mexico in PCB, Florida. WE are planning a wonderful surprise week with 2 of our sons and their families and all 5 of our grandchildren. The sons are from different states & don't know they will be seeing each other. It's been a long time. One was in the military, now retired, no more war for him. He was proud to serve his country as was his Dad in WW11.

yes!most of the time i have sby in mind when i ask a question,they always know that i'm asking it for them!and when i answer it's for me or them depending on the question!
