I need a new bank because I move around a lot and am getting tired of closing bank accounts and opening new ones. A good national bank may help solve that problem.

So which one, out of these 3, is the "best":
Wells Fargo
Bank of America
US Bank.

Well, I'm mostly concerned that I won't get slammed with a bunch of hidden fees. I won't need a credit card through this new bank (whichever I choose) because I've already got one.

I'd say Bank of America, since it's EVERYWHERE! And has a good online program you can use where ever you are.

Not sure about the other two, but WORST I've dealt with is Bank of America...in a long life of banking experiences, the BofA has been the only one to make serious billing errors [their Visa card], to have the poorest attitude when dealing with them in person, to have the slowest service response when you need something....and the fastest & greediest application of various 'service fees' whenever they can impose any. They're too large to care, and when dealing with their automated services, their "push 1 for..." sequences take forever and a day. Don't choose them!

US Bank. My brother worked there and their employees do a good job explaining their fees structure...they don't appear to have any hidden fees, and their online banking is user friendly.

If you really are concerned about fees though...do you have a Washington Mutual in your area? WaMu's free checking account the ONLY fee you have is NSF fees. Even with the NSF fees you get one free NSF per year. Also you get free checks for life...and if you use your WaMu card at a non WaMu atm you don't get a fee from WaMu (you will still have to pay the other banks fee, but atleast you aren't getting it on both sides). The have great customer service and you can get email updates about your account if you choose. I really like banking with WaMu.

That is a personal preference question. We don't use any of them. Our needs are better met with the bank we use. You just have to go in and check out there offers. Some do free checking and not free savings, others reverse that. Some do neither and some do both. Some charge for everything and some give you lots of free service because they are actually using your money for their investments. All up to what your needs are for a bank.

I use the Bank of America. They have free checking, online banking, keep the change savings account, and a free debit card. The only catch is you have to buy your checks. If you use them.

NOT Bank of America. I've had them buy out two of my credit cards (MBNA and Fleet) and they're TERRIBLE. As soon as I can pay off my balance...they're gone.

I have Wells Fargo and love them. They're very helpful and have corrected any problem I've ever had.

This is an entirely different criteria, but this is how I chose my bank, after narrowing it down to two.

I opened an account in each of them on the same day. One week later, I returned to both. One of them greeted me by name. The other, I closed.

Definitely not Bank of America. When they bought out MBNA, they screwed us on our credit cards.
