I always order eggs over hard, and about 10% of the time the waitress brings them scrambled or runny. What is the right way to tell the waitress the order is not correct, or should I just ignore it?

I believe the correct way to let them know is to just tell them. You can do this in many ways, but the least offensive way is to say "Excuse me, Would you please have the cook touch this up a bit, I really would like my eggs a bit more firm." Or if the order is wrong say, "Excuse me, I believe I ordered my eggs a different way, could you see if my plate was switched with another order?"
The wait person may or may not have made the mistake, but you have to try to make it clear to them that you aren't blaming them for the problem. Usually it isn't a fault of theirs, except failing to check the accuracy of the order. A lot of times, the waitstaff if so busy, honestly, they forget what was ordered. By the time the food comes out, they just serve it.

Hope this helps.

Stevo.

Well, is this happening at the same restaurant? If so, maybe they don't know the difference between over easy, medium, and hard. I am a cook and some people do not know the difference, believe it or not. But, all you have to say to the server when they ask it there is anything else they can bring you is that you would like your eggs cooked a little more and they will more than likely do it. Obviously, it is bothering you that your eggs are not cooked properly, so do not ignore it. But, if it keeps happening at the same place, I would try and find a different place to get breakfast.

Be very polite, but do tell the waitress that the food wasn't cooked as you requested. I always go to restaurants in the middle of the afternoon, when things are quiet & the cook is less likely to make a mistake. The atmosphere at that time of day is more relaxed & comfortable, too.

Try this recipe. SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE WITH VEGETABLES Ingredients 2 sticks of celery, washed and chopped roughly 1 onion, peeled and chopped roughly 3 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped roughly 2 carrots, peeled and chopped roughly 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 cup tomato paste 1 teaspoon chilli powder 500g minced beef 1 cup red wine 1 cup water spaghetti grated cheddar and parmesan cheese, to serve olive oil, to serve Method Place all vegetables in a food processor and blend well. Drizzle the olive oil into a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped vegetables and fry until you have a brown crust at the bottom stirring occasionally. Add the tomato paste and fry some more until crusty. Add the meat and chilli powder and fry some more. Add red wine and water and stir well. Add a bunch of thyme tied in string Simmer until the water has reduced. Add some more water. Simmer until the water has reduced. Repeat until it tastes fantastic. Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling water, drain and combine with the sauce and serve immediately. Serve with grated cheeses and olive oil. You can toss the sauce through the spaghetti and reheat in an oven.

Ask the waitress to return them to the kitchen for proper cooking. Specifiy again the way you want them done. And I agree with the first reply. Be polite but firm. It is not the waiter/waitress's fault.

Tell them that you are not satisfied, politely, and order a different dish. Sometimes they go in the back and regarange your food or put your food in the microwave.

Tell her politely that they aren't cooked correctly, and ask her (well, she should ask you) to send them back and have them prepared the way you asked. Be specific when ordering, and emphasise it without being rude.

Don't accept the food if it s not the way you ordered it.
Politely tell the server, "This is not how I ordered my eggs, Could you please redo them over hard as I requested?"
They should then apologize and redo the order...if they refuse.......just leave.

the customer is ALWAYS right, so if your not completely satisfied with your order you have every right to return it until they get it right. if this is happening often at the same place a talk with the manager may be helpful in getting your order right the first time the next time you go there.
you might even get a free meal out of the deal :)

Depends on what you are comftorable with. If it isn't how you ordered it, just let her know. Be like, "oh, I ordered these over hard, could you redo them please?" Just remember to be nice about it and leave a good tip.
